Copper in Oman

There is evidence that Oman had copper mines more
than 5,000 year ago at Wadi Jizzi, where copper is still mined today. Recently, large deposits of copper were discovered north west of Muscat and copper mines exist at hajl Al-Safe and Rakah. in Ibri.

Fishing


After oil, fishing was the most important industry in Oman in
2005. Around one quartet of the Sultanate's population depends
on fishing for their main source of income. In 2002, the fishing
industry had a value of nearly RO 63 million.
